January is often the month when it is time to pay more attention to our health, wellness, goals and diet,
And to exercise by getting out in nature with long walks to blow the cobwebs away and enjoy the quiet.
After all the Christmas madness it is nice to concentrate on the year ahead and look forward to what may be
With hopefully no dramas or major incidents, and we can recharge and refocus, and be relatively carefree!
Despite this sometime bleak month, in Chipping Sodbury there is plenty going on to keep us busy
With the production of Aladdin featuring all the favourites from Wishee Washee to Widow Twankey!
You can also experience the magic of Phil Collins and Genesis with songs and a 10-piece live band,
Who will transport you back in time with hits such as Against all Odds and Easy Lover on the baby grand!
So let’s embrace this month of fresh beginnings with clear intentions and perspectives for the year ahead,
And look forward to new beginnings and new chapters and growth and ensure that positivity is widespread!
Here we go again with the highly anticipated arrival of all things Christmassy and jolly,
From the tree to the tinsel, the carols and the cake and the must have mistletoe and holly!
The 1st of December heralds the occasion of Chipping Sodbury Christmas Sunday with plenty to see,
From a bouncy snow globe and the chance to visit Santa himself with a ‘hello’ and a whoopee!
There will be the Santa Float, live Donkeys, funfair rides, and Christmas entertainment galore
To get everyone in the festive mood with raffle prizes up for grabs, seasonal shopping and so much more!
St John’s Church will also be open with their wonderful crib festival, and Hatherell’s yard promises snow
Plus photos on a giant inflatable sleigh, with some mulled wine to warm you up and make you glow!
So why elbow your way round a manic mall when you can find everything you need with the stalls on display
With vintage dealers, creative designers, decorations and unique gifts to ensure a magical Christmas day!
Elf Jr is being performed at the Town Hall by the Shooting Stars plus a trombone quartet that showcases
The versatility of the instrument by performing works of all genres, and to show that they are going places!
So now it is time to wish you all a joyous and positive 2025 filled with peace, love, health and success
And may your many dreams and aspirations come true along with blessings, prosperity and happiness!
This is the month we can look forward to Nature’s vibrant end of year firework display,
With the hedges and woods ablaze with a kaleidoscope of colour from shades of gold to a silvery grey.
Low hanging mists appear as well as bright crips mornings with stunning clear skies,
And winter is gently peering round the corner and creating an absolute feast for the eyes!
At Badminton House a whisky tasting and a festive cookery workshop take place to indulge and hearten,
And in Chipping Sodbury 9-5 The Musical is performed with music and lyrics by the icon that is Dolly Parton!
We also have Remembrance Sunday and Chipping Sodbury will show its respects to those who paid
The ultimate sacrifice in two world wars by gathering at the town’s war memorial for a service and parade.
The Sodbury Slog makes its annual return with runners tackling the mud, and to be thrown and hurled,
And as we get nearer to a certain ‘C’ word the Crib Festival is back with a theme of ‘Joy to the World’.
So let’s get ready to see some amazing Bonfire Night fireworks that will literally light up the sky,
From the more sedate sparklers and catherine wheels to the rockets that sprinkle their magic up high!
There’s a lot to love about Autumn from football to yummy recipes and crunchy leaves,
As we prepare for that first nip in the air and finally put away the flip flops and the short shirt sleeves!
The nights draw in and the foliage becomes vibrant with golden colours and an earthy smell,
With the fall season creating its own special ambiance, gentle charm and magical spell!
It is the perfect time to embrace the concept of hygge and focus on the slow flow and simple pleasures,
And to curl up with a good book, take a long walk and savour some more restorative measures.
There is still a lot going on in Chipping Sodbury with a Medium experience, an evening with Andy Ford
And a spectacular performance from a Tina Turner tribute act with hits galore both known and adored!
The Kammerphilharmonie Europa are giving a guest performance in the Town Hall with the set
Show casing young musicians from across Europe including an award-winning soloist on the trumpet!
So let’s embrace the beginning of Autumn and that ‘back to school’ vibe, feeling and scene
And get ready for the clocks to change, the conkers to appear and the madness of Halloween!
