There’s a lot to love about Autumn from football to yummy recipes and crunchy leaves,

As we prepare for that first nip in the air and finally put away the flip flops and the short shirt sleeves!

The nights draw in and the foliage becomes vibrant with golden colours and an earthy smell,

With the fall season creating its own special ambiance, gentle charm and magical spell!

It is the perfect time to embrace the concept of hygge and focus on the slow flow and simple pleasures,

And to curl up with a good book, take a long walk and savour some more restorative measures.

There is still a lot going on in Chipping Sodbury with a Medium experience, an evening with Andy Ford

And a spectacular performance from a Tina Turner tribute act with hits galore both known and adored!

The Kammerphilharmonie Europa are giving a guest performance in the Town Hall with the set

Show casing young musicians from across Europe including an award-winning soloist on the trumpet!

So let’s embrace the beginning of Autumn and that ‘back to school’ vibe, feeling and scene

And get ready for the clocks to change, the conkers to appear and the madness of Halloween!

This is the month we can look forward to Nature’s vibrant end of year firework display,

With the hedges and woods ablaze with a kaleidoscope of colour from shades of gold to a silvery grey.

Low hanging mists appear as well as bright crips mornings with stunning clear skies,

And winter is gently peering round the corner and creating an absolute feast for the eyes!

At Badminton House a whisky tasting and a festive cookery workshop take place to indulge and hearten,

And in Chipping Sodbury 9-5 The Musical is performed with music and lyrics by the icon that is Dolly Parton!

We also have Remembrance Sunday and Chipping Sodbury will show its respects to those who paid

The ultimate sacrifice in two world wars by gathering at the town’s war memorial for a service and parade.

The Sodbury Slog makes its annual return with runners tackling the mud, and to be thrown and hurled,

And as we get nearer to a certain ‘C’ word the Crib Festival is back with a theme of ‘Joy to the World’.

So let’s get ready to see some amazing Bonfire Night fireworks that will literally light up the sky,

From the more sedate sparklers and catherine wheels to the rockets that sprinkle their magic up high!

The long summer holidays are almost over and out, and it is time to face the daily grind once again,

As we get ready for the more mundane routine and the cooler weather that starts to make us complain!

But there is still lots of activity in Chipping Sodbury, and nearby that give us plenty to shout about,

From a Fleetwood Mac tribute act, to the beautiful open gardens at Badminton House to view and check out.

The Sodbury Players are back in action at the Town Hall performing Noel Coward’s smash comedy hit,

Blithe Spirit, a much loved and revived classic drama offering conflict, big laughs and some ghostly wit!

Here at The Moda House the aga has had its yearly service and is gleaming after a professional clean

And Duncan has jet washed the outside area, so we are all up to date and looking smart and pristine!

September marks the unofficial start of Autumn with the football season kick off, and the schools going back,

Along with the Harvest Festival, the corn dollies, the biannual MOP Fair and the completion of the haystack!

So let’s get ready for the equinox when day and night are of equal length, and the temperatures taking a dip,

And plan a visit to Chipping Sodbury and The Moda House for a break, and an enjoyable and relaxing trip!

A very special month at The Moda House as we celebrate 22 incredible years of buying the B&B,

And it seems only five minutes ago since we arrived with our belongings and the all-important key!

It has been an amazing ‘journey’ and experience, with a roller coaster of many lows and highs

Resulting in a very steep learning curve from maintenance upkeep to the odd unpredictable surprise!

We are also cracking open the champagne as Duncan is celebrating his 70th birthday on the glorious 12th,

And firmly believe that to keep going is the best way forward as long as we have our continued good health!

In lovely Chipping Sodbury we have a few tribute acts on stage at the Town Hall including the amazing Pink

And the eat:Festival is back once again with a one day celebration of local and regional food and drink!

The Summer Search is well underway, and the Sodbury in Bloom team have created a colourful display

Transforming the High Street with bright baskets and planters full of purples and pinks for all to survey!

So let’s just enjoy the long, lazy and hazy days, and the scent of blooming flowers filling the air,

And the natural beauty of August with its festivals, fairs and events that showcase diversity everywhere!
